Stephanie is a Certified Personal Trainer through ACSM, the American College of Sports Medicine. She holds a brown belt rank in Shotokan Karate and is currently working on getting her black belt. For over three years, Stephanie has instructed children in Karate. From the “Tiny Tot” program that she designed especially for 2- to 4-year-olds, to the after-school programs that she teaches in the suburbs.
Stephanie is a wonderful, caring person who devotes her free time to working with the NISRA organization. Northern Illinois Special Recreation Association holds a special place in Stephanie’s heart, and she considers working with the special needs population there to be her passion. Working with NISRA, Stephanie teaches special needs children in her Stretch-N-Tone and Karate programs. Stephanie truly has a special gift in her ability to get through to children and adults that others cannot seem to reach. She teaches children and adults who have autism, agoraphobia and panic disorders, Down’s syndrome, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), brain trauma, and multiple sclerosis. When she is not volunteering, Stephanie enjoys competing in Karate and was an AAU (American Athletic Union) 2004 Gold and Silver Medalist. She currently runs our Special Needs Exercise program.
